چکیده

The non-singular, oscillating Friedman cosmology within the framework of General Relativity is considered. The general oscillatory solution given in terms of elliptic functions and the conditions for its existence are discussed. It is shown that the wall-like-matter and the small, but negative cosmological constant are required for oscillations. The oscillations can , in principle, be deep enough to allow standard hot universe processes like recombination and nucleosynthesis. It is shown that the wall-like-matter and string-like-matter can be interpreted as scalar fields with some potentials. This may give another candidate for the dark matter which may be compatible with observational data. For an exact elementary oscillatory solution it is shown that the associated scalar field potential is oscillating as well. short title: oscillating cosmology PACS number:04.20.Jb,98.80.Hw E-mail:[email protected]

We propose a cosmological model which could explain, in a very natural way, the apparently periodic structures of the universe, as revealed in a series of recent observations. Our point of view is to reduce the cosmological Friedman–Einstein dynamical system to a sort of Schrödinger equation whose bound eigensolutions are oscillating functions. Taking into account the cosmological expansion, th...

On the Big Bounce Singularity of a Simple 5D Cosmological Model

The big bounce singularity of a simple 5D cosmological model is studied. Contrary to the standard big bang space-time singularity, this big bounce singularity is found to be an event horizon at which the scale factor and the mass density of the universe are finite, while the pressure undergoes a sudden transition from negative infinity to positive infinity. By using coordinate transformation it...

Cosmology with a long-range repulsive force

We discuss the properties of a cosmology dominated by a charged scalar field with a repulsive, long-range self-interaction. The interaction, in the form of a vector field with a tiny mass, can have a dramatic effect on the evolution of the universe, with interesting consequences – including in some cases accelerated expansion. One characteristic of the model is an oscillating deceleration param...

Fitting oscillating string gas cosmology to supernova data

In string gas cosmology, extra dimensions are stabilised by a gas of strings. In the matter-dominated era, competition between matter pushing the extra dimensions to expand and the string gas pulling them back can lead to oscillations of the extra dimensions and acceleration in the visible dimensions. We fit this model to supernova data, taking into account the Big Bang Nucleosynthesis constrai...

Late time evolution of brane gas cosmology and compact internal dimensions

We study the late-time behavior of a universe in the framework of brane gas cosmology. We investigate the evolution of a universe with a gas of supergravity particles and a gas of branes. Considering the case when different dimensions are anisotropically wrapped by various branes, we have derived Friedman-like equations governing the dynamics of wrapped and unwrapped subvolumes. We point out th...
